The Rebels flexed their muscle on Saturday in their home opener and completely dominated the visiting Huskers in every facet of the game, recording 435 yards of total offence while holding the opposition to 93.
Anthony Cancellare’s debut was impressive at quarterback completing 13 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown but did throw three interceptions. His favourite target was Zion Brown who hauled in eight passes for 168 yards and a score.
Defensively the Rebels didn’t allow the Huskers to get into any kind of rhythm, forcing five interceptions. Isaiah Boutin had a pair, and Tyson Sopp returned a pick-six 82 yards for a touchdown on the Rebels first defensive play of the season.
Next week the Rebels (1-0) and Huskers (0-1) will each enjoy a bye week.
